Ecological Week
from 24.05.-31.05.2025

The focus of the work is the maintenance and marking of hiking trails around Morinesio.
This includes cutting back overgrowth, removing uprooted trees, earthworks, and renewing trail markings.
We also want to try to re-open old trails.

Above Sole e Fiori, towards Caudano/Centenero or Cucchiales and Elva.
We will work in groups, with the division organized according to the task and individual possibilities.
What you need to bring is the desire to contribute to the preservation of this unique cultural landscape, as well as good footwear, gloves, etc. We would be happy if many people participated. If you have any further questions about this, please feel free to contact us for more information.

Raku Course with Verena Siol

Raku is an old firing technique from Japan.
The objects are made from high-fire stoneware.
In the glaze firing, the pieces are removed from the kiln at the time of glaze melting with tongs.
The pieces are then smoked under an oxygen-free environment, with wood chips or other natural materials. The result is cracked and blackened pieces with a surprising surface.
In dialogue with clay, in pausing and letting oneself be affected by the environment, the individual has a free space to develop.
The design process begins with inspiration, an idea that comes from outside and can take effect when it meets inner readiness.
Vessels and figures (sculptures) are created consciously and uniquely changed by fire, smoke and water.
The focus of this Raku Intensive Course is on sensing one’s own form language, incorporating nature, finding inspiring material structures and shapes from plants and wood.
